  I would like to try and install OMV on an old HP Mediasmart Server EX490. This is a headless server, no option to add a VGA adapter.
  I would like to install OMV to USB. I found this thread on how to do this, but i will need to install OMV fróm an USB drive tó an USB drive:

  Unfortunately, the article does not describe how to install from one drive to another. I have downloaded the ISO and created the fist USB drive. I have a Windows PC and a Linux (Ubuntu) laptop that I can use for this, but both are UEFI and I cannot get those PC's to boot from the first USB stick.
  I'm new to OMV and I'm possibly overlooking something realy simple. Any help on how to install it on a second drive would be much appreciated.

Install Openmediavault Ubuntu

OpenMediaVault USB Write Minimisation. GitHub Gist: instantly share code, notes, and snippets. OMV will check for updates and you can then select and click upgrade to install the upgrades. If the above doesn’t work for some reason you’ll need to log into your media server directly with root access or SSH (SSH will need to be enabled) into your OpenMediaVault server, now run the command. Apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade && omv. Creating your bootable USB couldn’t be easier. Once you’ve created your installation media, you’ll to boot into it. Start by putting the drive in your NAS, hook up a keyboard, an ethernet cable for networking, and then boot the machine. Inside of the BIOS, change the bootloader so that the USB (or DVD/CD) installation disk can load first. Reboot the machine and the Open Media Vault installation tool will load. In the menu, select ‘Install’, then press enter. This brings the user to the Open Media Vault installation process.
